North Node calculator: Find your sign

North Node calculator or table with signs offers a personalized journey into the depths of your astrological chart. In astrology, the North Node is a point of profound significance, representing the path of growth and soul evolution. While the traditional zodiac signs reflect our personalities and tendencies, the North Node is like a cosmic compass, guiding us towards the qualities and experiences that bring deep fulfillment and purpose in this lifetime.

Whether you’re seeking clarity, guidance, or simply a deeper understanding of your cosmic blueprint, the North Node calculator (the signs table) is here to illuminate the path ahead. More: Judging someone’s character

What are the North and South Node?

The Nodes of the Moon are not planetary bodies. They are points formed by the Moon’s orbit around the Earth intersecting with the Earth’s path around the Sun. Collectively known as the “Nodal Axis,” they represent two opposing points of the Moon. Symbolizing life lessons and potentials to be developed (North Node), and behavioral patterns and skills that we already possess (South). While the focus is often on the North Node, it’s important to integrate both ends of the Nodal Axis. More: Discover your true path with North Node

When something unfortunate happens, people tend to respond with: “To me? It’s happening to me?” They don’t believe they are deserving of bad luck. One of the lessons they’re learning is that “life” happens to everyone.

The North Node represents our karmic path in this lifetime, guiding us toward our ultimate destiny and purpose. It signifies the path we need to follow to realize our full potential and fulfill our life purpose.

The South Node represents the area where our old habits and patterns reside, which we may have brought from past lives or earlier experiences in this life. While these skills and experiences are important, too much attachment to them can prevent us from evolving and growing. By working with the Nodes of the Moon, we can rebalance our emotional selves, and regain confidence in our individuality. More: Season Eclipse and Accelerated Growth 3/25 – 4/8/2024

The North Node calculator (List of signs)

For each of us, the North Node is located in a sign and a house. The sign in which the North Node falls denotes the psychological shift that needs to occur within the personality. The house is in fact at least of equal importance to the sign, indicating the areas of life where you might feel comfortable but need to move away from over-reliance. For example, if your North Node is in Cancer in the 11th House, you are learning to get in touch with and communicate your feelings (Cancer) through cultivating the energy of friendships and learning to “go with the flow” (11th House). Also if your North Node is in Aries in the 4th House, getting in touch with your gut instincts (4th House) you can discover and communicate who you are (Aries).

If the sign of your North Node is in the same sign as the house containing your North Node (for example, North Node in Virgo located in the 6th House, which is also Virgo; or North Node in Pisces in the 12th House, which is also Pisces), it simply means double the intensity of the same life lesson. Find your north node using the birth chart (natal chart)

Furthermore, you can find your North Node sign and house using your birth chart, which is based on your exact date, time, and place of birth. There are many free online tools where you can input your birth information to generate a full chart, including the North Node placement. Try searching “free natal chart”, and then search for the North Node symbol (☊ or “NN”) where it is located, the sign, and the house.

How to calculate the South Node sign and house?

Each North Node sign carries its unique desires—qualities and experiences that we yearn for, even if they feel unfamiliar or outside our comfort zone. These desires often contrast with the patterns of behavior or comfort zones represented by the South Node. The South Node embodies the traits and habits we have mastered in past lifetimes or earlier phases of our current life, and the gifts we’ve brought in.

After using the North Node calculator or table, you can define your South Node because the North and South Node are always 180 degrees apart in the zodiac. Let’s say you find that your North Node is at 14° Taurus. Your South Node would then be at 14° Scorpio because Taurus and Scorpio are opposite signs.

For example:

  • If your North Node is in Aries, your South Node will be in Libra.
  • If your NN is in Taurus, your South Node will be in Scorpio.
  • If your NN is in Gemini, your South Node will be in Sagittarius.
  • If your NN is in Cancer, your South Node will be in Capricorn.
  • If your NN is in Leo, your South Node will be in Aquarius.
  • If your NN is in Virgo, your South Node will be in Pisces.

If you want to calculate the house use the same logic. For example, if your North Node is in the 5th house, your South Node would be in the 11th house, directly opposite it in the chart. The South Node is always in the house directly opposite the North Node. Here’s a guide to which houses are opposites:

  • 1st House7th House
  • 2nd House8th House
  • 3rd House9th House
  • 4th House10th House
  • 5th House11th House
  • 6th House12th House
