To julienne carrots with a peeler, start by laying a large carrot flat on a cutting board. Hold the thicker end of the carrot and use the peeler to drag downwards from the top to the thinner end. This technique creates thin, matchstick-like carrot strips. Keep peeling until the carrot becomes too small to handle easily. More: How to keep strawberries fresh?

How to julienne carrots with knife?

Start by peeling the carrots with a regular vegetable peeler to remove the outer skin. Once peeled, place the carrots on a cutting board with the long side facing you. Trim off the tops, then cut the carrots into 2 or 3 pieces, each about 2-3 inches long. The number of pieces will depend on how large the carrots are.

Take each carrot chunk and slice it lengthwise into thin, flat planks. Place one plank flat on the board and cut it lengthwise into thin matchsticks. Repeat this process with the remaining planks. To save time, stack a few planks and cut them together. This makes the process faster while still giving you even strips. More: How to cook chickpeas?
